Why Applied Theatre?

Applied theatre is a fairly a new idea in the Indian society, it is very much useful in diverse areas. Applied Theatre simply means application of theatre to help people learn. Program Details

The PGDAT (PG Diploma in Applied Theatre) is divided in three trimester and in each trimester students have to attend four days of classroom training every month at our Pune campus.

Practice based workshops will enable students to learn and practice applied theater methodologies. The workshops will develop facilitation skills and help learn instruction design, pedagogy of participation, ability to handle questions and discover learning from the process

There will be few theory courses that students will attend online. This will help them to develop a deep understanding about the subject and gain perspective towards practice. It will also provide an opportunity to develop interest in research and publication.

What is PGDAT program intended to provide?
The program is designed considering the three broad areas Theatre in Education, Theatre in Society and Theatre for Corporate. This online and offline integrated course structure will help students to explore various possibilities of getting engaged in a society in various different creative ways.
Can anyone without experience in theatre join the PGDAT course?
Yes, you can join this course even if you don’t have any experience in Theatre or any other art form. There are no prerequisites to join this course.
How is the program delivered?
The PGDAT is a practice based nine month long online and offline integrated program. As a student, you have to attend four days of classroom training every month at our Pune campus.Some of the courses, report writing, assignments and submissions have to be completed online.
When does the program begin?
PGDAT Program starts from January 2021
Is there a refund policy for the program?
There will be no refund
Does this program offers Scholarship?
Yes, we do offer limited number of scholarships for promising and needy students. To avail the scholarship you need to provide a statement of purpose along with your application form. Decisions regarding the scholarship will be made after an interview with the students.
